Today was the first meeting of the Movember team.
These students and teachers are making the commitment to raise money and awareness of men's mental health in our community, the cause also raises awareness for suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. An important cause and important conversation to have.
By growing a Mo, we hope it can act as a symbol to start conversations about mental health that wouldn't normally happen. The aim is to make mental health a topic which is normal for us to talk about. After the year we've had, we at Xavier believe that everyone needs to be aware of each other's mental health and take care of each other. No one should feel like they have to deal with the world on their own.

Good Friday Walk an Amazing Feat of Faith

Commitment to Close the Gap clear for Western Sydney Catholic schools
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has released its first annual Closing the Gap report. This report outlines its contribution to improving socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly students and their families. CSPD Chief Executive Officer Jack de Groot said the report reflects the dedication of CSPD’s 6 500 staff in fostering reconciliation and equity through the organisation’s 80 outstanding school across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

Bishop of Parramatta recognises student excellence
Each year, one Year 12 student in every Catholic secondary school in the Diocese of Parramatta is awarded the Bishop of Parramatta Award for Student Excellence. This prestigious award is nominated by the school principal and recognises a student’s witness to their Catholic faith and outstanding contribution to the school community in areas such as academic excellence, sporting achievement, creative and performing arts, social justice, vocational education and community involvement.
