Student Wellbeing

We support the social and emotional welfare of students and their families through effective strategies, recommendations, policies and procedures, guidelines and tools that enable healthy personal development in students and contributes to their academic success.

Our daily tutor groups are just one of the wellbeing initiatives we offer to ensure every young person has a positive school experience.

Learning at Xavier

Xavier is a place where curiosity, imagination and love of learning thrive through working together to provide the most effective, engaging and challenging learning experiences for students.

As one of the 80 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Parramatta, we’re working together to transform learning for students in Greater Western Sydney. This means reimagining and refreshing learning and teaching for today’s world and today’s learners.

The purpose and promise of a Catholic education is to inspire each learner - student, teacher and family - to discover a meaningful and flourishing life.

Our faith journey

Xavier is a great place for students to grow in faith and learning. We value each student as an individual and share the values of the Gospel to help them discover the hope that is within and to experience a meaningful and flourishing life.

Beyond the classroom

We believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. Our school gives them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.

Be it learning Japanese or playing the drums, Xavier is a place where every student shines.

Extracurricular activities we offer

Sport

Sport is a valued part of a school’s curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child by providing a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning. Participation, enjoyment and skill development are the cornerstones of school sport.

Extensive opportunities to participate in sports include:

  • Trefoni Trophy (Staff/Year 12 student contest)
  • diocesan gala days for soccer, netball, rugby and basketball
  • swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals
  • recreational sports such as surfing, ice skating, and gymnastics
  • annual walkathon
  • Motiv8 sports activities
  • specialist training and workshops.

Representative pathways are also available through the Parramatta Diocesan Secondary Sports Council.

Students with additional needs and their families are very welcome in our schools. An inclusive approach supports the individual needs of each student. It’s all about building confidence, independence and belonging!

We are particularly proud of our purpose-built High Support Learning Centre which provides inclusive education for students with a moderate intellectual disability, low adaptive functioning and high support needs.
