Principal's COVID Update 15th July 12.20

Dear Parents, Guardians and friends of Xavier,

Lockdown of Greater Sydney Extended for Two Weeks

Given the ongoing number of infectious cases in the community, the current lockdown will be extended for at least another two weeks until 11:59 pm on Friday 30 July.

This means that for Weeks 2 and 3, Term 3 schools will need to continue to facilitate online learning as well as onsite supervision for students who need to be at school (children of essential workers, vulnerable students).

Xavier Virtual Learning (XVL) will continue into Weeks 2 and 3. Our staff have prepared work up to Week 6 to ensure we are well equipped to support the ongoing learning and teaching.

I must commend our staff for embracing XVL and creating engaging learning experiences that are designed to maintain learning. It is also important to remember that our teachers and the administration team are also family members experiencing stress and anxiety during these challenging times. I am extremely proud of their commitment to your children.
Commencing next week, each Tutor Group teacher will have a Zoom Tutor Group session from 8.40 to 8.50 each morning. This is designed to check in on students and follow up on any concerns that have.

If your son/daughter missed 3 Zoom Tutor Groups, a member of staff will give you a call to see if we can assist in any way.

I know these are stressful times, these are challenging times and  ALL we want is to stay safe and support each other.

Stay strong and be gentle with each other as we continue to exceed our expectations in challenging times.
